"J'Accuse"

1894

Emile Zola published the article four years after the Dreyfus Affair, claiming that the French government commited an injustice by giving a life sentence to Dreyfus for a crime he did not commit. Zola intentionally wrote this so he will be tried for libel, thus forcing the information about Dreyfus' trial to the public.
