Oron Shaul was an Israeli soldier killed in Operation Protective Edge in 2014. His death first drew international attention when Hamas announced that he had been taken prisoner. A few days later Israel confirmed that Oron was killed, and Hamas demanded the release of prisoners to return Oron's body to the soldier's family. Hamas continues to hold Hadar's body.
