Rabbi Zvi Elon serves as the Rabbi of World Bnei Akiva and Head of the Education Department. He is responsible for the spiritual and halachic guidance of the Hachshara" programs for Bnei Akiva participants from around the world who come to Israel upon completing their studies, as well as for the movement's Shlichim and branches worldwide. In this role, he addresses complex questions arising from the unique challenges of Jewish communities across the globe, providing creative and tailored solutions.

Born and raised in Jerusalem, Rabbi Zvi was educated in Religious Zionist institutions and was an active member and madrich in the Ezra youth movement. His deep connection to Am Yisrael and his passion for outreach led him, together with his family, to embark on a shlichut mission to Uruguay under the auspices of the World Mizrachi, Amiel, and Torah Mitzion. For six years, he served as a rabbi and mohel for the Yavne community in Montevideo, leaving a lasting impact as a key figure in shaping the community's path.

Upon returning to Israel, Rabbi Zvi was appointed the Rabbi of Caesarea and continued to play a central role in aliyah and Jewish education initiatives in South and Central America through organizations such as World Mizrachi, Israela, and United.

Rabbi Zvi is renowned as an eloquent speaker, delivering captivating lectures to diverse audiences – from laypeople to yeshiva and seminary students – in multiple languages. Currently residing in Or Akiva with his wife Chen and their five children, he also serves as the spiritual leader of a community of South American immigrants, a group he was instrumental in bringing to Israel.

Rabbi Zvi joined World Bnei Akiva in 2023.

הרב צבי אילון משמש כרב התנועה וכראש המחלקה לחינוך, ואחראי על ההכוונה הרוחנית וההלכתית של תכניות ההכשרה לחניכי בני עקיבא מרחבי העולם, המגיעים לישראל עם סיום לימודיהם, וכן של שליחי התנועה והסניפים ברחבי העולם. במסגרת תפקידו, הוא מתמודד עם סוגיות מורכבות הנובעות מהאתגרים הייחודיים של קהילות יהודיות בתפוצות, תוך מתן מענה יצירתי ומותאם.

הרב צבי נולד בירושלים וגדל במוסדות הציונות הדתית, והיה חניך ומדריך בתנועת הנוער עזרא. חיבורו העמוק לעם ישראל ולרעיון קירוב הלבבות הוביל אותו, יחד עם משפחתו, לשליחות באורוגוואי מטעם המזרחי העולמי, "עמיאל" ותורה מציון. במשך שש שנים כיהן כרב וכמוהל בקהילת יבנה במונטווידאו, והותיר חותם משמעותי כמי שהפך לדמות מובילה בעיצוב דרכה של הקהילה.

עם שובו לישראל, התמנה לרב העיר קיסריה, והמשיך לשמש גורם מרכזי במיזמי עלייה וחינוך יהודי בדרום ובמרכז אמריקה מטעם גופים כמו המזרחי העולמי, ישראלה ויונייטד.

הרב צבי ידוע כדובר רהוט המעביר שיעורים מרתקים לקהלים מגוונים – בעלי בתים, תלמידי ישיבות ומדרשות – ובשפות שונות. כיום הוא מתגורר באור עקיבא עם רעייתו חן וחמשת ילדיהם, ומשמש כרב וכמנהיג רוחני של קהילת עולים מדרום אמריקה, קהילה שהוא עצמו היה גורם מרכזי בהגעתה לישראל.
