TZACHI MEGNAGY

Tzachi Megnagy leads the global secretariat of World Bnei Akiva, overseeing the movement's educational, logistical, and financial activities at both local and international levels. At the forefront of the organization’s mission, Tzachi inspires and empowers Jewish youth worldwide, fostering a deep commitment to the Jewish People, the Land of Israel, and the Torah.
Tzachi’s journey with Bnei Akiva began as a chanich in the Bat Yam Snif (branch), where he later became a madrich for new immigrants from the former Soviet Union and Ethiopia, as well as the senior tribe. He also served as the rabbi of the Bat Yam Bnei Akiva alumni minyan.
Over 25 years ago, Tzachi embarked on a meaningful path in Jewish education abroad. He served as a shaliach in Ukraine and Belarus and led Zionist seminar delegations for the Jewish Agency to Australia and the USA. As a tour guide in Israel, Poland, and Yad Vashem, Tzachi guided thousands of Jewish youth and students through programs like Taglit-Birthright and educational missions from schools and universities around the world.
Before joining World Bnei Akiva, Tzachi was the CEO of Heichal Shlomo, the Center for Jewish Heritage, where he played a pivotal role in promoting the richness of Jewish heritage to diverse audiences. He also served as the VP of Education at "The Jewish Journey," one of Israel’s leading educational tourism companies, specializing in strengthening Jewish identity and fostering connections to Israel through immersive experiences in Israel and Europe.
Tzachi is an alumnus of Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav and Yeshivat Har Hamor and holds a BA in Education, Jewish History, and Talmud, as well as an MBA. He lives in the Katamonim neighborhood of Jerusalem with his wife, Tzila, a hospice nurse, and their five children: Daria, Benaya, Neta, Ori, and Re’i.
Tzachi began his work with Bnei Akiva as CEO at the start of 2023 and was appointed Secretary General of World Bnei Akiva at the end of 2024.
צחי מגנאג'י עומד בראש המזכירות העולמית ומוביל את פעילות התנועה בכל ההיבטים – החינוכיים, הלוגיסטיים והפיננסיים – הן ברמה המקומית והן ברמה הבינלאומית. צחי ניצב בחזית המשימה לעורר השראה ולהעצים צעירים ובני נוער יהודים ברחבי העולם, תוך טיפוח מחויבות עמוקה לעם ישראל, לארץ ישראל ולתורת ישראל.
צחי החל את דרכו בתנועה כחניך בסניף בת ים, המשיך כמדריך לעולים חדשים מברית המועצות לשעבר ומאתיופיה, וכמדריך השבט הבוגר. בהמשך, שימש כרב מניין בוגרי בני עקיבא בבת - ים.
לפני כ-25 שנה, יצא לשליחות חינוכית בתפוצות, ושימש כשליח באוקראינה ובבלרוס. הוא עמד בראש משלחות סמינרים ציוניים מטעם הסוכנות היהודית לאוסטרליה ולארצות הברית. כמדריך בישראל, בפולין וב"יד ושם", הוביל אלפי צעירים יהודים בפרויקט תגלית ובמשלחות חינוכיות מרחבי העולם.
טרם הצטרפותו לבני עקיבא, כיהן כמנכ"ל "היכל שלמה" – המרכז למורשת היהדות, שבו תרם רבות להנגשת עולמה העשיר של היהדות למגוון קהלים. בנוסף, שימש כסמנכ"ל חינוך בחברת "מסע יהודי", אחת מחברות התיירות החינוכית המובילות בישראל, המתמחה בחיזוק זהות יהודית וחיבור לישראל דרך מסעות חינוכיים בישראל ובאירופה.
צחי הוא בוגר ישיבות מרכז הרב והר המור, בעל תואר ראשון בחינוך, היסטוריה של עם ישראל ותלמוד, ותואר שני במנהל עסקים. הוא מתגורר בשכונת הקטמונים בירושלים עם רעייתו צילה, אחות הוספיס, וחמשת ילדיהם – דריה, בניה, נטע, אורי ורעי.
צחי החל את עבודתו בבני עקיבא העולמית כמנכ"ל בתחילת 2023 ומונה למזכ"ל בסוף שנת 2024.
