Photographer Danielle Romberg: Limmud in Photos!

Danielle Romberg, a Bogeret of Limmud 2024 shares with us her thoughts of her Gap Year. Danielle was an avid photographer and captured some amazing moments of her year is Israel. Here is her summary of her amazing year on Limmud: "Limmud wasn’t just a gap year — it was an unforgettable, life- changing journey that changed me in ways I never expected. I don’t even know how to put it into words but honestly, it changed everything. From the moment we landed, I felt like I was walking into something way bigger than I ever expected. I traveled all over, surrounded by the breathtaking, beautiful chaos of Israel. Every day was filled with new adventures, from sleeping under the stars in the middle of nowhere, to having Shabbat with Bnei Akiva in Vienna. Every moment left me feeling more connected.

I met people who instantly felt like family, formed friendships that I know will last a lifetime, and had conversations that challenged and inspired me.

Every conversation, every meal, every bus ride filled with music, laughter, and always busy.

I got to do things I never even knew I needed — dancing at Kabbalat Shabbat with tears in my eyes, all of us pushing each other up the mountain, the rush of working in MDA ambulance . I was challenged. I was inspired. I was amazed.

Limmud didn’t just show me Israel. It showed the person I was becoming. The leader I want to be. The kind of friend, Jew, human being I want to show up as in this world. I grew up in ways I didn’t think I needed to. It pulled me out of my comfort zone and into something real. Something that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

I didn’t just take a gap year, I took the most amazing experience offered. Limmud guided me to keep going, keep growing, and never forget how it felt to be so alive and so seen.
